A Quick Guide to LED Lights for Your TV

March 8, 2022

Modern TV stands that include LED lights are fairly common these days, but one way of making your room stand out from the crowd and to create a unique effect is by using LED lights for your TV as well as having them on your stand too.

This effect will work extremely well if you have a modern style of décor and looks great, especially when watching a film or playing on your favorite video games.

I used to think that LED lights around a television would take away from the viewing pleasure but I recently purchased some, just to see what all the fuss was about, and you know what? I absolutely love them! They do not actually take anything away from watching movies or playing games as I initially thought they would and I personally think they look great and add a unique effect that you simply cannot get in any other way.

In terms of getting some tech that changes the look of your room, LED lights are a very cheap option that gives you a lot of bang for your buck.

I have had my LED lights for about a month now and I could not be happier with them, as you know I was a little skeptical about this whole LED lights around your TV thing at first, but after having them for a while I am so glad that I decided to give them a try.

I absolutely love using the vibrant colors when I'm gaming (specifically the red when I'm playing hitman 3 at the moment) but when I'm watching a boxset or TV series the more mellow colors work really well.

I am so surprised at how much I like these lights now, especially considering what I thought about them originally.

Because I like them so much, I have decided to create a guide for anyone thinking about getting this cheap tech upgrade that will transform the look of your TV.

Below you will find my tips and advice to choose the best LED lights for your TV and living room setup, as well as some of the best options available for you depending on your requirements and budget.

Choosing the Right Lights for Your Setup

You have a couple of options available when it comes to choosing the LED lights that are going to be the best fit for your home setup.

Power source

When it comes to powering this type of light you can either get a standard plug version or alternatively a USB option. I went for the USB version because it was better and easier for the way I have my TV set up. My TV is wall mounted so it made sense to go for the USB powered option because then I could just plug it straight into the back of the TV and not have to worry about routing and hiding any extra wires. But you might find it more convenient to have them plugged into your standard power outlet.

App or Remote operation

As well as being operated by remote, some LED lights can be controlled by an app on your phone. The apps can be fun to play around with but to be perfectly honest, I haven't actually used the app to control my lights since the day I got them and set them up, I just find it quicker and easier to use the remote, but that's just down to my personal preference.

If you are willing to spend a little more cash you can even get smart lights which can be operated by voice command and are compatible with Alexa and Google Assistant.

When it comes to functionality, you can choose a set of lights that is more basic and doesn't have any special features or if you want something a little bit more special you can choose a set that has some cool features such as a built in mic which allows the lights to change colors and speed along with music.
